Catherine: Guest House Has Given Me the Opportunity”

CatherineMARCH 25, 2014 ... Catherine graduated from the Guest House Aftercare Program in 2013, after several tries and a lot of hard work.

Today, at age 48, she is a grandmother, a missionary at her church, a poet and an artist. She recently completed Computer CORE's six-month job-training and job-readiness program, gaining valuable office skills.

Catherine has been a three-time Guest House resident. The first two times, she seemed to be gaining a little more from our program and moving a little farther from the (internal and external) forces that led to jail. After this last try, her third, she was ready to conquer the world! The cartoon (left) came with her final application requesting one last try, which was granted, of course. Says Kari Galloway, executive director of Guest House, "Catherine really has shown us what someone can do with more than one chance!"

“I feel Guest House is a wonderful place,“ says Catherine. “I feel it has given me the opportunity to go further in my future. It’s opened the door for me to get the help I need as far as jobs, as far as housing. It’s just a very good program.“
