NOV. 8, 2013 ... More than 100 supporters—donors, volunteers, clients and other friends—attended our second annual fall fundraiser, “A Night of Transformation,” held on Thursday evening, Nov. 7, 2013, at Alexandria’s Collingwood Library and Museum: once a part of George Washington’s River Farm.

In total, the event raised more than $10,000.

The night began with a program, emceed by Ann Timmons. Highlights included: the presentation of a proclamation honoring Guest House by Rob Krupicka, Virginia House Delegate (45th District) and Adam Ebbin, Virginia State Senator (30th District); a video showcasing our work, created by Hanna Kras; and Guest House graduate Tonia Johnson’s powerful testimonial.

The event also featured silent and live auctions; Kerry Donley, a member of the Alexandria City Council, served as auctioneer. At tasting tables, guests sampled local wine-and-food pairings throughout the evening. Finally, there was live music by singer-songwriter Lynn Hollyfield and the band, Black Moon Tonic.
