NOV. 7, 2014 ... On Friday evening, November 7, more than 150 friends, clients and supporters of Guest House attended our annual fall benefit event—this year, also celebrating our 40th anniversary. The event, “40 Years of Transformations,” took place at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s facility in Arlington and raised about $40,000.

Monique Ricks, a graduate and former staffer of Guest House, was the featured speaker, describing her journey from incarceration to community re-entry. Ann Timmons emceed the program. Guests also enjoyed live music by The New Misty Crystals, silent and live auctions, and several tables of wine and food pairings (desserts compliments of J. Deanna and K.S. French).

"I want to commend you and your staff on the 40th anniversary of the Friends of Guest House! Guest House is an important partner with the Department of Corrections as we seek to increase public safety by transforming lives. The services offered to women at Guest House in areas of housing, case management, mental health, substance abuse and employment are critical to the reentry success of former offenders.” —Testimonial sent by Harold W. Clarke, Director of the Virginia Department of Corrections

“Guest House is amazing. Thank you for all you do for our community.”—From Alexandria Vice Mayor Allison Silberberg
