Poetry by Friends of Guest House Clients
Six current and former Friends of Guest House clients share their original poetry. Three clients wrote their poems during a creative writing class as part of the Friends of Guest House Workforce and Life Development program. The other three wrote their poems while they were incarcerated.
A little about some of the authors:
Helenia graduated from Friends of Guest House in 2017. She currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia in permanent supportive housing and is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Marymount University. She expects to graduate from Marymount in 2019.
Terry is an Aftercare client and she lives in the Friends of Guest House Second Chance Community in Alexandria, Virginia. Terry is pursuing a Medical Administrative Assistant certification through So Others Might Eat.
Grace is an Aftercare client and she lives in the Friends of Guest House Second Chance Community in Alexandria, Virginia. Grace graduated from the DC Central Kitchen culinary arts training program and works at a Marriott hotel.
