Established in 2008, the Friends of Guest House Speakers Bureau deploys professionally trained Guest House clients as speakers throughout Virginia and the D.C. Metropolitan area. Speakers tell their powerful stories to a wide range of audiences including:

  • Women and men living similar circumstances who can identify with the speakers and ask questions.
  • Students, including candidates for social work degrees or at-risk adolescents, who benefit from real-life storytelling and experiences.
  • Extended community members, including service organizations, religious organizations, wishing to better understand the challenges of reentry and who are interested in paving a better way for these vulnerable members of society.
  • Criminal justice advocates, elected officials, and responsible citizens looking to improve our criminal justice and reentry systems.

The Guest House Speakers Bureau has reached thousands of people and is a popular resource for clients, communities, and regional audiences.
