Volunteer
Your time is valuable.
Use it as a powerful tool for change. Volunteering with Friends of Guest House gives women who are formerly incarcerated a chance to become leaders for themselves, their families, and our communities.
Volunteering at Friends of Guest House supports every aspect of our clients’ journeys
as they choose to move beyond who they were to become who they want to be. Volunteers provide a wide range of services, including, but not limited to:
Professional development:
Computer training, resume writing, GED tutoring, and job skills preparation, etc.
Personal development:
Planning field trips, grocery shopping, leading exercise classes, etc.
Organizational support:
Providing legal assistance, office and yard work, researching and coordinating external resources, etc.
Submit our Volunteer Application today detailing your expertise, experience, and interest.
Application Process
Please ensure to understand our volunteer program guidelines:
- To process your application, we require a $25 background check fee due to the sensitive nature of our work.
- In determining placement of a volunteer, equal attention is given to the interest of the volunteer and to the requirements of Friends of Guest House.
- After both the application process and an interview, volunteers must attend an orientation before working directly with our staff and clients.
Together, we can transform community perceptions around women who have been incarcerated.
